“I have seen the Garrett/Gillies quartet on a few occasions and am always looking for details on when their next date is. It is always a thouroughly enjoyable evening at the Ram Jam club in Kingston - good food accompanied by a lively atmosphere and great jazz.
The musical conversations between Jon and Kieron are always great to hear, underpinned by the professionalism and musicality of Sam and Pete. I highly recommend an evening out to see these guys.”

“The Garrett /Gillies Jazz Quartet (January 27th, 2007, Ram Jam, Kingston) are an energetic bunch that are forging new ways in jazz-based funky-fusion. Keyboardist Kieron Garrett is the essential driving force behind the unit. Garrett lays down subtle Rhodes undertones (e.g. in the opening of Miles 'Blue in Green'), then 'splats' harmonic clusters at his fellow band members (witness his version of 'Skunk funk'). The quartet's repertoire has something to please every fan of jazz and my personal highlight was their uptempo version of Chick Corea's '500 Miles High'.
Definitely a musically entertaining evening.”
